This example is hand painted with exceptional detail. No cracks or repairs.  Height: 15 inches and 10 3/4 long. The figure is signed by the artist " Markup B." He was designing for Herend between the 1920s and 1940s.  Figurines and sculptures were not prominent in the Herend range in the 19th century, but many such pieces were made in the first half of the 20th century, in accordance with the tastes of the day. There is a very rare porcelain Lenin inkpot by famous Russian artist Natalya Y.Dan’ko. These pieces was made in limited edition and presented only to the members of presidium of the Congress of Communist Party. The inkpot consists of two books, a scroll and a bust of Lenin standing on them, with a removable inkwell embedded in the books. This is a handbuilt pottery bowl made by well known Hungarian ceramist Livia Gorka c.1950. It is signed with Gorka's conjoined gl signature. It has three small tripod feet. It measures approximately 5" wide and is in excellent condition.

This lovely porcelain cabinet plate features a gilt and floral border design, scallop-edged border, a raspberry interior border and a central floral bouquet of pinks and purples. Plate measures 10.75" and carries the backstamp of R & M Co underneath a globe, along with the written number 5963. Excellent condition.
