This porcelain vase was produced in France by Tharaud Limoges before 1930. It is 6 inches high. The vase is made of hard paste porcelain and has a round shape. The design is bold and colorful in art deco style. Large flowers, flowing colors and interesting glaze are what make this vase so unique. The colors melt into each other. There is cobalt blue, violet and turquoise. The areas that appear to be white have a rather marbleized effect. Gilding was used to define some of the flowers and ... Click for details

The petit breton stands amidst exuberant floral decoration on this 2-1/2 inch high egg cup with the soleil (yellow) background color. Dating circa 1930 this egg cup is in excellent condition with only minor flakes, to be expected on the soft earthenware base. I have another identical egg cup sold separately (since both have the man). They are marked "HenRiot Quimper France".

Fine floral painting on this set comprising a dragon head handled cup and saucer, circa 1935. The cup (2-3/8 inches high by 3-1/4 inches wide) is decorated with the petit breton although the floral borders show better artistry. The saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter. The condition of both pieces is excellent with only tiny typical nicks on the rim of the cup and some lumpy glaze inside the cup.

Handpainted stoneware-pottery supper set by Guillot of France, each piece hand-signed on reverse; 12 pieces, total. There is every indication that this set is the work of Alvaro Guillot, deceased, noted 20th Century surrealist French painter, who was known to have worked for a time in ceramics. Guillot was also, at one time, mid-century, active in Florida and California art circles, and is well represented, today, in fine galleries.... Click for details

These rare Art Deco plates are offered as a pair, with the cost attributed only to the Bretonne (woman) as the plate with the man was smashed and put back together sometime during its history. They are from the Henriot factory, circa 1930, measuring 8 inches in diameter. The Bretonne has some paint flakes but no chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. The pair makes an effective display.
