This stands 2" tall, and is widest at 4.25". Circa early 1900's, this is a great example of Clement Massier's work from Vallauris France. A hard paste black transferware Gien, French military proverb plate early 20th century. The scene is that of men marching with full military gear with a proverb below the picture and with the number 12 and a military proverb above the picture. Picture was signed J. Copeland. The border consists of a hinged belt of alternating diamond pattern and floral cartouches. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. They measure approximate 7-1/2 inches in diameter.
