Lovely French Floral Majolica Hanging Planter

Fresh for spring or summer in a conservatory or sun porch this majolica piece with gerbera blooms around the edge and lovely soft green leaves and salmon-colored buds on the body is great for an ivy plant or a small fern. There is also a small gerbera bloom at the very bottom to finish it out. The shallow bowl is 11 1/4 inches in diameter and 4 to 5 inches deep. Picasso pitcher 5 1/4" made at Madoura Potteries, Vallauris, France where Picasso went annually from 1946-1971 to create his ceramics. The base is marked "Edition Picasso Madoura." The motif is Don Quixote on one side and a standing bull on the other. Many of his pieces were done in limited editions. There are 2 white chalk-like marks, one on the handle and the other at the base. See photos.
