This impressive Italian majolica planter or cache pot measures 28.5" wide by 17.75" high. Purchased in Italy approximately ten years ago. It features bright gold and royal blue glazed decoration and lion masks on two sides. No known markings or hallmarks of any kind. Overall condition is very good. This fabulous mid-century ceramic plaque by Marcello Fantoni (1915- ) depicts three men, one seated upon a horse. Signed with the artist's in the lower right corner, along with the work's title and the city name Firenze. Measures 15" by 10.5" by 0.5" and weighs just under 4 lbs. Fantoni and his studio are particularly known for their one-of-a-kind ceramic lamps created for Raymor in the 1950s.
