These 8 glasses were produced in Italy in the 1920’s. The Venetian style of gilding and decoration is indicative of that period. We do not know who the specific manufacturer is. They are 7 ½ inches high and the bowl of the glass is 4 ¾ inches in diameter. Each glass is hand blown in 3 parts then joined together. The bowl of the glass is clear crystal. This is a very rare and very significant piece of vintage Murano glass, perhaps the only one in existence in these colors and perhaps one of only a handful in this technique. A similar lion is published in the Murano Bestiary book by Marina Barovier as produced by Flavio Poli, but the one pictured does not have the contrasting glass colors that make this one more appealing in my opinion.
