A 2-7/8" tall (at the handle) sterling silver unengraved baby mug made by the Preisner Silver Co. (1935-) of Wallingford, Ct. This great gift weighs 62 grams, and it is stamped PREISNER STERLING 54. It is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A high quality sterling silver footed gravy or sauce boat with a scroll handle, made by Birks Canada. This 5-5/8" across the handle and spout sauce dish stands 3-5/8" high, it is stamped BIRKS STERLING (mark in used from 1904-24) and it has a 3/30/ pattern number. Italian born, Sciarrotta (1907 - 1985) was smuggled out of Italy in 1944 by U.S Army Intelligence to work on submarine armaments for the U.S. war effort. After the war he settled in Rhode Island and opened Sciarrotta Silversmiths in Newport.
