A handsome solid wooden hair pins box made from a solid piece of Ebony and is stamped on the underside "Ebony" and "Made In England".
The top is mounted with two decorative corners and "Hairpins" across the centre each hallmarked for London 1922.
A firm push to the button at the front releases the lid to reveal an interior divided into three compartments.
Excellent condition measuring 5" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" tall.

I love the aged star patterned design on this painted metal tray referred to as tole! I have several papier mache Napoleon III pieces listed on my website, but haven't found any in tole! I think it was probably done later, maybe turn of the century. It's delightful and will add such a punch to any wall or table top!
