This is a unusual jewelery/trinket box. The bottom Approximately 4 X 4, the top 3 5/8 X 3 5/8
inches. The top is hinged. The bone is in narrow strips placed side by side, after being placed side by side the image was carved into the top. The bone was placed on
wood and held by narrow metal bands. The bottom sides are made of four large pieces of bone and the bottom made of smaller pieces of bone. I do not know the origin

This is a hand carved ivory scene of the Taj Mahal. It is very detailed as can be seen by the pictures. The towers and the domes are all removable and are threaded. The quality of the work on the domes is pretty incredible with piercings throughout the piece. The ivory itself is 8 ½ x 8 ½ inches and the height is 9 inches tall. The piece is on a stand and the stand is 11 inches square. Including the stand the piece is 11 inches high to the top. The inside of the Taj Mahal does light up.
