Having carved half-sails, and sailing on a foamy sea, is this diorama-like replica of the sailing ship "Marion Sprague". Written in pencil on the reverse is the inscription, "Marion W. Sprague built in Boston 1889, 748 ton" and then signed, "George A. Alden, 1941". The piece measures 12 1/2" long, 9" high, and 3 1/2" deep. In good, as found condition with a fine folk art, home-made flavor.

Classic accessories never fail to impress. This beautifully handcrafted tortoise shell case was made to hold cigars in the 1920's having a stylized leaf design incised in silvered metal inside, simple silver clasp and domed rectangular shape. Measures 5 1/2 "x 3". Condition is excellent. This item cannot be shipped outside the US

A pair of carved solid walnut plaques featuring a beaver on one and a squirrel on the other. These may have started out as carved plaques or the like, although they would make interesting bookends. 5 1/2" square each. Priced for the pair. Really do not know the age, but sure to be 20th century. RL*

A high quality hand woven basket, possibly used as a sewing basket. The lid with small central handle and opening with woven hinges. Tight weave, fine material, well fitting throughout. An example of the art of weaving, with some discoloration on the top from light and dust exposure. Traces of glue inside hint that the original silk interior is now lost. 11 1/2" X 8 1/2" X 5". RL*
