Lancaster County Amish Bars Crib Quilt: Circa 1950

Most unusual to have a genuine Lancaster County Amish Bars Crib quilt, but particularly as late as 1950. Fabrics are a combination of rayon and wool knit. Subtle, clearly intentional difference in the bars. The outer two are wider and a different fabric than the central two. Measures 29" x 34".

Rare to find such a perfect set of vintage printed napkins! Measuring 15 1/4" X 17 1/2", machine hemmed on all 4 sides,and the linen is drapey but crisp. The color is so vivid, I doubt they've seen much use if any! The background might whiten with laundering,it's creamy colored now, and I haven't done anything to them...just as I discovered them. So delightful for your table!

Baskets of flowers,with lace fillings highlight this almost round (68" X 65") cotton tablecloth. The design,pictured over the round cotton damask tablecloth, shows beautifully. All work seems to be professionally worked by hand,and is very good though not fine, the embroidery is precise but not padded. Drawnwork ,padded embroidery,and French sanding stitches nearly cover these 7" napkins which could also be used as doilies under cups. After closely examining,there is enough variation in some of the stitching to determine they are handworked,though seemingly perfect .These were yellow with age,but now all are white ,but for one is a little darker with age and should continue to lighten with washing,otherwise all are in perfect condition.Purchased in Switzerland.A great addition to your entert... I first thought this large set of napkins was machine made,but after close inspection I believe they are most certain to be hand embroidered,with shadow stithing and even the buttonhole bound scallopped edges. Quite hard to find large sets these days,especially in such perfect condition. They laundered beautifully! A wonderful addition to your collection or perhaps for a bride's trousseau! 5" X 7" fine cotton batiste.
