Airy and graceful Tulips pattern quilt was 1932 signed by the maker, Margaret L. Wiggins, who made it for "Frank P. Graham and Wife" in December, 1932. Nicely quilted with pinwheels and stylized flowers. Professionally laundered. Lovely scalloped border repeats the curve of the floral stems. Measures 71" x 84" to outermost edges of scallops.

What could be more appealing than this Cats crib quilt pattern? Does the fact that there are nine of them relate to the traditional notion of cats having nine lives? Nicely embroidered with details including a collar on each animal. Cable quilting in the border and concentric diamonds throughout interior. Pristine condition. Colors softer that in photos. Measures 35" x 36". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1930.

Japan. 1950-1970. " Lovely vintage orange almost crepe silk with great floral motifs in many colors. This piece is unique in that it has been prepped to be "recycled". In the past, when someone could not afford a new kimono they would re-dye the ones that they had. In this case there are shadowy outlines of a new pattern on the reverse side of this fabric. Some of these lines show through a bit in the white areas of the panel." Very good condition. 13.5" x 59"

Japan. 1950-1970. " A stunning vintage silk in a deep shade of royal blue. It is completely covered in a pattern of peacock feathers in shades of white and pale and medium canary yellow. Almost every element of this piece is outlined in metallic gold as well as the centers of the feathers being rendered in at least three different shades of gold. The silk is surprisingly soft for having this much embellishment and has a great drape." Mint condition. 14.5" x 71"

Japan. 1930-1940. "Pre-WWII silk in a deep shade of regal purple. The asa (hemp leaf) pattern is done in white and a melonish pink shade. Because this is quite an old shibori, the fabric is lighter in weight than the contemporary or late vintage ones. The silk is luminous even after all of these years and has an excellent drape. Very good condition. 14.5" x 44"

Graceful scalloped border. Wonderfully balanced combination of soft and bright colored flowers. Measures 78" x 92" to widest point of scallops. Circa 1930; Pennsylvania origin.
