Pair of mythical garden statues from Casa Bienvenida, an historic estate on Park Lane in Montecito, California designed by Mr. Addison C. Mizner and built by Alfred A. Dietrich in the late 1920's. These mythical figures have parrot shaped heads, wings and bodies in the shape of a cat with their tails in between their legs. Very good condition. 25"H, 19"W, 9"D. This 10" tall Gilded Buddha stone head has a sculptural look to its rather modern depiction of a Buddha. Faded gild creates a textured look to the surface of the face, different angle of the Buddha head under the lighting creates a different persona of the Buddha. Nice vintage piece from inner Mongolia of China that resonates a modern simplicity of a contemporary sculpture. This sitting Guan Yin, an Avalokitesvara in Lalita Asana is carefully carved with intricate details. The Lalita Asana is a pose of ease-one leg pendant and is resting on a lotus pedal.
