San Ildefonso Pueblo pottery by Joe Aguilar, circa 1960s. Polychrome painted design in the style of the early Maria and Julian. All natural pigments are beautifully applied to a creamy slip, with the red slip on the back. Pit fired.

Circa 1950s pottery plate from Acoma Pueblo New Mexico. Pretty polychrome colors on creamy white are all natural pigments on native clay and pit fired. Unsigned as is usual for that time.

This old souvenir pottery measures 8 1/2" diameter by 2" deep.

Another of our skeletons in the closet, this is the smallest of the Guatemalan and Mexican skeletons we own. Standing about 3 1/2 feet tall, this little guy is somewhat different than the others in that he is somewhat more simian in appearance, and has a coating that is cracking on the skull's top. We purchased this piece in Guatemala a couple of decades ago. At around 6 feet long, and 2" wide, this blowgun came with some lead shot, since lost, but it retains the shot-pouch and three empty bullet casings that were attached as decoration (which were also used, perhaps, in the shaping of the projectile for the blowgun.
