Very finely woven grasses dyed and natural make this old Kuskwogmiut, Alaskan Eskimo, basket very beautiful. Note the imbricated tiny designs around the edge of the lid and rim. Nice spiral design on the lid and the bowl.

Dimensions are 9" diameter by 3" tall plus the knob. Too fine to count the stitches, 4 coils per inch.

This large willow basketry olla is Yavapai Indian from Fort McDowell, Arizona, woven in the 1950-1960s, possibly by Bessie Mike. This is a great classic olla in excellent condition.

Woven with willow and devils claw over a three rod willow foundation, 4 1/2 coils and 12 stitches per inch. This nicely sized olla stands 17" tall and is 15 1/2" across the shoulder. Great Classic shape!... Click for details

Traditional Pima Indian basket like the type used for parching and winnowing, this was woven before 1950. Strong stepped whirlwind design is worked in willow and devils claw radiating out from the dark center.
