Soft colors include dusty pink, green, charcoal, and chartreuse; unusual and striking. 63" x 72" (160.02 x 182.88 cm), reversible; folded and stitched hems at top and bottom, finish edges on the sides. Bold and graphic bird fills the Navajo Indian textile with Art Deco style! Circa 1930s era, this large (53" by 81") textile is hand woven with hand spun native wool, natural white and dark brown, carded gray-brown, aniline dyed red and vegetal dyed gold. The weave is very fine for a large piece, 30 wefts and 12 warps per inch on average.

Traditional Navajo Indian floor rug of the 1930s. Woven with handspun native wool on an upright tapestry loom, the colors are natural sheep colors and aniline dyed red. Note the Spirit Line in the upper corner, the most traditional Navajo Indian weavers put this in at the end to let out Spiderwoman's spirit to help with her next weaving.
