As with the companion figure, this individual graced the upper portal of a private devotional space (family chapel) in the area of San Luis Potosi. Ca. late 1800s or early 1900s. Made in most traditional and colonial manner of single piece of carved wood, estafata covering, and decorative embellishments of paint and gold leaf. Damage throughout ... Click for details

This marvelous evocative piece still retains its original decorative surfaces of paint and gold leaf. Each of the two figures exudes a mystical, contemplative aura. In rougher co... Click for details

Strong accents design brilliantly done in the familiar colors of many of Mexico's 1940s tourists -- namely US travelers. Stands 6 3/4" high (to the handle) and measures 5 1/2" across. Bears an early impress of MADE IN MEXICO. A wonderful ca. 1930s piece in very good vintage condit... Click for details
