Another of our skeletons in the closet, this is the smallest of the Guatemalan and Mexican skeletons we own. Standing about 3 1/2 feet tall, this little guy is somewhat different than the others in that he is somewhat more simian in appearance, and has a coating that is cracking on the skull's top. Everything you look for in a great retro butterfly wing souvenir tray. This one for Rio de Janeiro has a great design. Several panels with different types of butterfly wings behind the glass. The famous mountain Crist Statue is cutout paper. There is also hand painting and the wood part is excellent quality inlay. This tray has no stains or damage. It is 9 1/2" X 16 1/2". About 1/1/2" deep. A really great piece of retro regional souvenir art.

Wonderful Mexican pigskin document box 17" x 10 1/2" x 10 1/2. Hand painted with flowers, doves and landscapes. Removable interior tin lid with a dove painted on it. On the front is written: " Si a tu ventana llega una paloma, tratala con cariño que es mi persona" which is a part of a famous song from 1861 "La Paloma" composed and written by Sebastian Iradier. Fine vintage condition and patina.

I was told that these unusual hand carved stone figures were carved by the Women of Bolivia. I was told they were meant to trap and hold sorrows and worry. What ever the function this piece is a wonderful piece of one of a kind folk art. It is from Bolivia and marked as such on the bottom. I would guess the age to be between 10 and 20 years old. It is 3 1/2" tall. No chips or damage.

A beautiful strand of pre-columbian jadeite beads, 23" in length, restrung on heavy nylon cord, with a central animal(?) carved figue. Several other beads appear to be carved. The strand consiste of beads of differing size and texture, of attractive shades of green. The tabs measure 1 3/4".
