Complete carved ivory chinese chess set with box. The kings are approximately 4" high and the queens 3 1/2" high. Kings, queens and bishops are individualized. Each of the eight pawns is a separate individual. The set is in excellent condition. NOTE: Many of the ivory items listed on this site were purchased from an elderly gentlemen who retired in 1985. A nice heavy piece of Mastadon Ivory. Detailed carving and great scrimshaw details. Traditional 7 lucky gods, ride is a hen boat on this attractive netsuke. Of Chinese origin, a few decades old. A great price for the quality, much less than the Japanese originals that these Chinese netsukes were based on. This one is 2" long and about 1 3/4" tall. By weight it is a lot of Ivory, over 1 1/2 oz.

An Antique carved Chinese Ivory mounted Man/ Sage/ Warrior on a Rosewood stand, the Nobleman or Warrior has a hand to his beard and the other on the sword, reins are delicately carved, the character of the entire carving is exceptional. the Ivory is genuine and has age patination. Now for the damage..two of the horse's legs are missing below the knee, both are on the left side, there is an eartip chip on the horse's right ear, the Warrior figure is missing one piece of the hair on the left side...
