Lavender jade is carved into a figure of Guanyin, the Buddhist bodhisattva revered in China as the goddess of mercy. Guanyin stands on the head of a dragon that curves up and behind her, with the tail curving over her head to create a halo. The figure, shown here hanging on a chain as a pendant, is carved on both sides. The lavender hue of the jade is most pronounced across the bottom of the piece where the jade has the greatest depth for the carving of the dragon head with a ball in front of it... Click for details

A large and well made Chinese low grade silver filigree brooch c1900-20. This 3-3/4" x 1-1/2" pin has natural cabochon turquoise and coral stones, and it closes with a safety catch. This pin is of low grade silver (around 50%), and it is stamped MADE IN CHINA. A finely made vintage Chinese sterling silver filigree butterfly necklace c1910-20. This 34-3/4" round link chain has a rod and loop clasp, and it has a nicely detailed filigree 1-7/8" x 3/4" butterfly pendant, with a suspended 1" Peking glass (imitation jade) teardrop. A fine quality Chinese carved and coloured bone scrimshaw brooch in an ornate filigree gilt silver setting c1920s-30s. This 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" pin has a safety catch and it is marked MADE IN CHINA SILVER; the scene is of flying birds with flowers and branches.
