These red clay pieces were made to hold and serve foods.The valued clay is also used to make expensive and fine tea vessels. This beautiful goard shaped pot is decorated in a traditional style using a heavy onlay of enamel glaze. The shape is lucky and was probably meant to hold wine. It could hold wine, saki or flowers. What a Duck. This grand sculpture shows the respect the Chinese have for this important animal. It is marked "MADE IN CHINA". The colors and glazing are classic Tang green and gold, however, the total lack of any ground-in dirt or wear to the design indicates that it is a 20th century piece. Nonetheless, it has a great deal of charm. The piece measures 7" high by 10" long by 4 ¼” wide. Excellent condition.

A specacular piece of ceramic art. This brown clay lion was made in the Federal perion in communist China. It is at least 70 years old. It has a mold pattern or factory marks on the bottom, it is a number [245]and hard to see in the photo. This piece has no damage and it is 8 3/4" long, 4 1/2" tall. It has wonderful surface details to resemble fur. It has animal real wiskers set into pores in the head. It is an outstanding and rare piece.
