Old Chinese scholar’s rock in a form of a turquoise chunk suggesting mountain of dramatic shape with foothills and caves. The stone is four-sided, providing at least 4 different complete views. Beautiful turquoise matrix of bright colors with very richly textured surface, nicely carved fitted hardwood stand. Wonderful object for contemplation on scholar’s table. A geologist friend identified the stone as phrenite with black epidote inclusions. Beautiful stone with delicate and richly textured surface. Original old carved fitted hardwood stand. Wonderful object for contemplation on scholar’s table. Length with stand 3 3/8 inches.
