They were on display to show how fine the quality of work that this company could do. They did not want to sell these so I had to pay a very high price at the time in Hong Kong. The price is for both rug wall hangings. I purchased these wall hanging rugs in China in 1984. They were showpieces on display in a top of the line rug company showroom. They were not new when I purchased them so I would guess they are about fourty to fifty years old. They are two of the most detailed finely woven works I have seen.
