A typical original Tamang thanka from Rameschap district with Lord Buddha in the sitting position on lotus flowers, in the central part surrounded by four other deities at the bottom, eight ordinary people wearing traditional nepali dresses can be seen with Yamatanka in the middle Mineral painting on cotton cloth
Maximal size of the painting only are 56 X 48 cm, whereas total size including the local
cloth frame 80 X 60 cm , with a cloth protector to cover the thanka when not honored

A set of two wooden containers, one with a bottle shape, the second has a larger opening to contain likely curd. They are made in a single piece of wood, except the tap. These bottles have been collected from remote mountains tribes. These containers are no more used and are replaced by glass or plastic items , obvious signs of age , at least around 50 years. A fine wooden container with a bottle shape, made in a single piece of wood, except the tap . This kind of bottle could be used for different purposes, alcool, oil, milk… ?) . This bottle has been collected from mountain tribes, probably Tamanf people from Langtang area. These containers are no more used , obvious signs of age, at least around 50 years. Height 12 2/3 inches (32 cm) ,max diameter 5 ½ inches (14 cm), very good condition no crack , hard to get this quality nowadays.

A very fine smiling mask from Rai People from East Nepal ( border with Sikkim). Very precise carving quite characteristic of Rai people, the smiling attitude is only given by the shape of the mouth. Mouth and eyes are surrounded thin carved lines figuring eyebrows and mustache : a very nice sample of the art of Rai people. Very hard wood, very good condition. A funny lakhe mask from Kami people from Western Nepal. Symetrical painting using red, orange and black colors, some pieces of goat skin are fixed on the forehead and the chin. The inside has been likely washed before the face was repainted. Note the protection all around the mask, made with a thick wrapping of rags. . Very good condition , obvious signs of use. A strong and powerful mask collected from Magar people from the remote district of Humla. Note the white color on the left side of the face whereas the right side is more deep black and made shinny, this likely figures the white and the dark side of the soul, like the yin and the yang. Minimal style with square shaped holes for eyes and mouth. Very good condition , obvious signs of long use. This interesting fine mask has been collected from Tamang tribes in East Nepal (district of Rameschap) the design and style are quite unusual refined considering its Tamang origin. Note the deep carving surrounding the eyes and the mouth to figures eyebrows and mustaches. Note also a thin layer of metal likely coper fixed with nails to figure the barb. A typical mask probably from Kami cast from West Nepal, light wood , note that out side is black patina whereas inside is light brown patinated indicating that between use the masks was probably hanged on a wall. Goat hairs fixed with glue to figure the hairs, mustaches and barb. Few chips but no cracks, very good condition age is close to 50 years. Height 10 ¾ inches (27 cm), Wide 6 1/3 inches (16 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on an iron stand.
