I am not sure if this very unique brass box is very old or antique. It is a Lotus shape, 5 chamber spice box. The "leaves" have a peacock on top and the "legs" are elephant heads. The center peacock unscrews and you open the hinged leaves to reveal the chambers. This piece is 3 1/2" tall and 4" diameter when closed. It has a wonderful patina of age and use. The nut underneath is a replacement, it is newer than the rest of the piece. It is heavy cast brass or perhaps bronze. I have also been told... Click for details
