I am not sure if this very unique brass box is very old or antique. It is a Lotus shape, 5 chamber spice box. The "leaves" have a peacock on top and the "legs" are elephant heads. The center peacock unscrews and you open the hinged leaves to reveal the chambers. This piece is 3 1/2" tall and 4" diameter when closed. It has a wonderful patina of age and use. The nut underneath is a replacement, it is newer than the rest of the piece. It is heavy cast brass or perhaps bronze. I have also been told... Click for details

This is a traditional Indian toy with a brass animal on wheels. This is a smaller version than most. It is 2 1/2" tall and rare for this miniature size. As you can see it is a lost wax casting, primitive but very charming. It is a rider atop an Elephant. Probably 40 to 50 years old. A nice piece.

ca. early to mid twentieth century 4 1/2" x 6", 11.5 cm x 15 cm This wonderfully clear and simple ink drawing is that of a yantra, or a geometric depiction of an aspect of god or the goddess. Yantras can be thought of as power diagrams that are used to focus the mind on a particular form of the divine and can aid in ritual and prayer. This yantra shows ascending and descending energies (the upward and downward triangles) and the four sided cartouche encircling this show the cardinal direc... Click for details
