The decoration is surrounded by translucent red enamel (pigeon blood) on an underlying ground of silver foil. This rare and outstanding example of Japanese modern cloisonne vase is decorated with wireless technique (Musen) with arabesque design on a black ground. Partry there are some wires which give the arabesque design snap. The ground is a deep black with a touch of navy blue. The rims of top and bottom, silver mounted. This is a pale blue Ando Jubei box depicting a shrine among pine trees, the design flowing down the front side of the piece. Enameled in both standard silver wire and wireless technique and measuring 5.25" x 4", the box is brocade lined and is marked junjin on the inner rim.

Condition: Minor wear to the bottom, hairlines to the sides of the top.

This is a graceful 10.5" pear shaped vase bearing the seal of Ando Jubei. Enameled an unusual lush shade of plum/brown with a cream accent, it is decorated with silver wire flowers that appear gold against the dark ground. The bottom rim is marked "silver", the counter-enamel is dusty plum.

Condition: No chips, hairlines or repairs. There is minor scuffing to the base rim.
