A Japanese molded plaster and lacquer decorated Noh Mask, c. 1930. The cherubic figure with exaggerated cheeks and forehead. There is some surface loss to the burnt red lacquer. It does not, however, detract from the beauty of the piece. It measures 8 5/8" in height, and 6 1/2" in width. Aside from the surface, the mask is in very good condition.

This mid-1900’s ikebana container has been crafted of squared bamboo with a cloud-like pattern, a technique that developed in the Kyoto area during the 1920’s. The two culms have been joined by bamboo rods. An unidentified signature is carved on one side. Good condition except for a hairline crack extending down the inner and outer sides of the smaller piece. Dimensions: 15” x 9” x 3”

Two large Bamboo baskets (Silk-worms eat a mold on mulberry leaves) from Japan. These baskets make fantastic wall lamps with a little shoji paper and a socket! The effect is magical. The diameter is 33" and the depth is 2.25". One basket is in good condition ($80) the other has a small 2" piece of bamboo broken & missing for $60. Circa pre 1960. Very Shibui.
