This pair of chests dates from the Taisho period and has many indications of high quality. Each piece is comprised of three stacking sections. "His" has all drawers below the upper section, and "hers" has a section with sliding shelves or shallow drawers (kimono and obi) and a beveled mirror on the inside of one door. Antique Japanese Ko Dansu, a small decorative storage chest. Constructed primarily Kiri, or Paulownia wood, this quaint little chest features a deep red lacquer, accented by black and gold lacquer on the sliding doors. It measures approximately 21" wide, 11" deep and 12 1/2" tall, and is in overall good condition. This item dates to the early Showa-Period (c.1930).

This hibachi has a wooden cover that may serve as a small kotatsu, or frame to support a futon or heavy blanket. The two-piece top is drilled with varying sized holes and is copper-backed. One lower side of the box is removable but the firepan doesn't slide out. There's also a lacquered firepan cover that may not be original to the piece.
