A nicely detailed pair of carved wood and lacquered Japanese candelesticks for use as part of a home shrine. or butsudan. The chrysanthemum shaped carved bases are embellished with silver alloy fittings with chased designs at both the base and top. We date these anywhere from late Meiji to early Showa period - circa 1920-1940. Each candlestick measures 7 3/16” high x 2 ½” diameter at base. Very good condition.

A Round Japanese Lacquer STAND which is made from wood. The pedestal and rim are in a dark green and the interior is the typical cinnabar (red) color. Very beautifully proportioned. However, there are some rim chips and several chips in the lacquer at the bottom of the base. Suitable for displaying your favorite item. The height is 3.5" and the diameter is 9". Circa: 1920's.
