This is a 4pc lacquer set, tray, cigarette box, ash tray w/metal insert, and match box holder. The tray, cigarette box and ash hand painted in a floral pattern. The match box holder decorated with a butterfly. The tray measures 12 X 6 1/2 X 3/4 inches. The cigarette box 5 X 4 X 1 1/2 inches. The ash tray 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 X 1 1/2 inches. The match holder 2 1/2 X 1 X 1 1/4 inches. There is some very minor lacquer chips, the overall condition is good.

An attractive, high quality hand painted Japanese 15-1/8" x 8" lacquer tray c1920s. This tray features black lacquer over wood with lush gold accents on the edge and both handles; the central scene is of two fighting roosters in orange, brown, silver, gold and red. It is marked MADE IN JAPAN, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small loss to the lacquer near the bottom rim and some very slight spots of soiling and rubs. A lovely Japanese folding fan made of lacquer and paper. At the top it decorated with cherry blossom. This fan is 10 inches wide and 8 3/4 inches long. The owner of this fan purchased it in Kyoto in 1970. It is in its original box and in excellent condition.

This is a nicely carved Japanese lacquer box in the Kamakura-bori style. The design is that of a landscape in a central reserve that is surrounded by flowers on the lid and the sides. The interior is black roiro lacquer. The piece measures 5 3/8” long by 4 ¼” wide and is 1 7/8” deep. Excellent condition. We date this to the late Meiji to early Showa period, circa 1910-1930.
