This elegant Japanese porcelain dish in scalloped octagonal form is hand painted in vibrant overglaze polychrome enamels and comes with its original signed wooden storage box (“tomobako”). A Footed Imari or Kutani Sake Cup - Meiji/Taisho

A nice little footed sake cup - the colors are more those of the Kutani palette or it could be am Imari piece. We date it to the late Meiji period to early Taisho - circa 1900-1925 - the wear on the foot might indicate an earlier date. The cup measures 2 1/4" high x 2 1/8" diameter at the top and 5/8" diameter at the base. It is in excellent condition.
