Very delightful and unusual 1920s stoneware tokkuri - sake bottle - with glazed body and enameled decoration of flowering daisies among vines and grasses. Very pleasing squared shape with horizontal ribbing, typical Japanese spiral finish to the unglazed recessed bottom. Excellent quality painting with thick application of enamel, great design in Japanese taste. Wonderful crackle to the glaze. Very delightful 1920s Banko ware vase with enameled decoration of a toy tiger with nodding head and paper strips hanging off bamboo branch. Gorgeous contemporary Japanese celadon cracked glaze flower vase from Nabeshima. Beautiful running rainbow overglazes dripping lusciously from the top. This piece was fired at the Kawazoe Seizan Kiln in Imari City and signed by Aoyama. A collection of ten oribe dishes are in the auspicious gourd shape. Each sits on three hooped feet and is decorated with classic Oribe patterns and colors. On several, the heavy green glaze is edged in pink or red. One is lighter in color and has a larger diaper pattern; it may be newer than the others and is the one with a chip. A large playful vase performed in Persian influenced style by Seto artist Kato Kinzo enclosed in the original signed wooden box.
