In the original box, this signed Kato Sakusuke Oribe tea ceremony water pot is imbued with the rich Oribe green overglaze. A richly textured Shigaraki Uzukumaru Tsubo decorated with a single drip of charred green glaze by representative Shigaraki artist Sugimoto Sadamitsu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The entire piece is covered in crustaceous pale ash, a single lick of flame colored earth rising up the back. It is 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) tall and in perfect condition.
