Large standing gilded wooden Buddha. Dressed in full robes and with his down turned hands at this sides demonstrating the Calling in the Rain mudra, a gesture to bring the rain to nourish the rice fields. Tall pointed ushnisha and extended earlobes frame a face with down cast inlaid eyes and compassionate expression. From Luang Prabang, Laos. On custom metal stand.

Basket from Northern Burma probaby from the Rawang or other Kachin related group. . Approximately 50 or 60 years old. Increasingly difficult to source, this is a fine example of Burmese tribal basketry. Condition: good natural polished feel to the surface, a couple of “breaks” on upper rim of basket. The hole in the handle lid seems to intentional, as it has the same wear as the rest of the piece. Dimensions: 20cm/8in height 15.5cm/6.2in diameter.
A rare model of Ghurra composed of a chain with 2 square links whose upper link carries an ancestor seated at its top who seems to be in a meditation position. The lower link shows on each of its 4 faces naive sculptures of various mythical animals, elephant, deer, cow, dog and peacock. The ancestor measures 9 cm high, his face measures 3 cm. Superb hard inlaid patina. Presented on an iron stand. Note that this ghurra has undergone several discreet local repairs...
Case mask with one half face painted green and one half red, tubular mouth; no ears, blossom on one side and tuft of red hair and feathers on the other. Douglas fir ruff. Body painted any common katsina style. Carries staff tipped with feathers, and a rattle. Appears in regular katsina dance.

Lovely Bohemian pale pink cordial set with pastel enameled flowers. The set includes 4 glasses, glass tray, and a decanter with a parrot. We haven't noticed any conditions issues except for age related wear to gold gilt. Decanter measures 10.5 inches high, glasses 2.25" high, tray 7.5" diameter. A very unusual and sweet set.
Japanese Blue and White Soba Noodle Cup, Showa period, late 1800 to early 1900's, 2 3/4" high, 3" diameter-top rim, tapered top and transfered blue design of flying Phoenix Bird among scrolling vines and leaves, unglazed bottom. The condition is good, some sand spots while firing in the kiln.
Pair Japanese Blue and White Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Showa period, early 1900's, 3 1/8" high, 2 5/8" diameter-top rim, with transfered blue design on white, signed on the bottom. The condition is good, some missed glaze spots on the rim.
Japanese Showa period monochrome green musen shippo wireless cloisonne vase decorated around the circumference with a band of flowers and scrolling foliage executed in layers of stacked enamel. Chrome rims. 8 1/2" high. Post World War II (circa 1945-1960s). Very good overall condition.

Lopburi bronze figure of a Radiant Lokesvara, or "Lord of the World" in sanskrit. Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. Covered in scores of miniature representations of Buddha on his shirt, he also has toe rings one attribute is missing. Size h 4.5" by 2.25" wide some loss from bronze decay , the face though still visible has sloughed off a bit.
