Extraordinary bronze group of a panther with black patina. On the lookout, on a large branch also in bronze, carved in a very realistic way, it seems to be watching its prey, ready to pounce. Phenomenal Art Deco cocktail shaker and six matching cocktail glasses by Gorham. The gently curving surface has a quilted appearance created by deeply incised vertical and horizontal lines. The spout and handle are attached to the body with a cobweb-like decorative device. The cocktail glasses are raised on tall stems with knops decorated to match the bowls. This is a rustic brushpot a farmer in rural Hubei carved this out of a tree trunk. He spotted the branch at the right and decided not to trim it Hence this pot has a handle. Its skin is old and patinated. It is a charming pot. It dates from the 19th century.

Chinese Ma Shaoxuan glass inside painted portrait snuff bottle of a Chinese official. Spoon with red stone stopper (believed to be agate). Recessed base. On the front with the picture there is 6 characters of writing. On the back there is a poem with a red seal.

Each: Ovoid bowl on cylindrical stemp flowing into domed foot. Dense fronds and flowers repousse. Mouth rim molded and foot rim crimped. Tactile easy-grip form with nice balance. Fully marked including maker’s stamp (1925-32), no. 402, and phrase “Hand Decorated”. Excellent condition.
