Set of Three Old (1930's) Japanese Imari Octagon Bowl w Cranes

The smallest one is 3 inches (7.5cm) tall by 6.75 inches (17cm) wide, the median one is 3.5 inches (9cm) tall by 8 inches (20cm) wide, and the largest one is 4 inches (10cm) tall by 9.25 inches (23.5cm) wide.

It is in good condition with no repairs or cracks, except rubbing of gold, and the middle bowl has a small chip at the rim (as seen in the photos).

This splendid vase is an Obata Kakiemon production. Hideyoshi Obata was a businessman who co founded a kiln in Arita with Kakiemon XII, in 1919. The kiln was named Obata Kakiemon and was allowed to use the Kakiemon marking used at the time called “kakufuku”, which is the marking on this vase. Offered for sale is a wonderful early 20th century, apothecary pharmacy bottle from Eli Lilly & Co. labeled “CHLORODYNE”. The back side sports 2 labels, one of which mentions the 1906 Food & Drug Act, and the other indicates the pharmacy “L.J. Madsen & ? – Hartford, Conn.

This 2.75 inch high amber corked bottle is in very nice condition. The cork is actually pushed inside the bottle.

The labels have darkened with age but remain quite clear and easily readable.
