This exquisitely painted watercolor on paper is depicting a young peasant woman wearing a colorful scarf around her shoulders and a white kerchief on her head, and a gold earring. It is from early to mid 20th century. In lower left-hand corner is the artist signature in script, Burri. It is in good condition and in a gilt frame. The size is 11 ¾” x 7 ¾” (frame 16 ¼” x 12 ¼”).

This is a portrait, painted in watercolor and perhaps pastel, dating to the 1940's. It is a well executed figural study that depicts a man atop his hunter. This comes from England and was torn from an artist sketch book, hence the ragged edges. The frame is much older, dating to the mid 19th century, and measures 15 X 11.75 inches. Original price was $595.

A Chimbu Province man named "Yame" is wearing a circular forehead ornament made from the base of a conus shell. Strands of nassarius shells hang down on either side of his red painted nose. The red and black feathers of a Pesquet's Parrot and the green feathers of a lorikeet are positioned in a whisker-like manner. Part of the "Man as Art" series taken in highland Papua New Guinea between the years of 1967-1980.
