A pair of superlatives. The size of this pair of Song - Yuan jarlets is extraordinary large. The body of the pieces is very well potted. The very desired bluegreen Celadon colour of the " Guan-crackled " glaze is rare. All in all this impressive, very decorative pair would be a true enrichment for any Longquan collection. An absolute lovely teapot of the Guangxu period ( 1875 - 1908 ). Brilliantly enamelled " Mille Fleur " decoration which is extraordinary rich in detail. ( Famille Rose ) Iron-red Guangxu Mark and of the period. H : 10,8 cm. L : 17 cm. Condition : Perfect.
A superbly potted Qianlong Mark and Period ( 1736 - 1795 ) vase with an wonderful copper-red glaze.

Condition : It was possible to re-glue the broken vase very successfully. Although there is no re-paint to the vase the re-glued areas are quite discrete.

A silver mounted 16th century Annamese vase with definitely the strongest and deepest cobalt blue ever reported on Annamese ware worldwide. Take me at my word that neither in any museum collection nor in any private collection can be found any Annamese piece with a better cobalt blue than the blue of this vase. The cobalt blue of this vase is even better than the very prominent " Mohammedan Blue " or " Ahmadan Blue " of the Yuan Dynasty.

A very well and thinly potted porcelain bowl with a polychrome decoration ( Famille-rose ) of the "Eighteen Luohans" and a red six-character mark. Qing Dynasty, Guangxu period ( 1875 - 1908 ) Diameter : 15,8 cm.
Condition : There is a very flat chip to the inside of the footrim. Further in an absolutely perfect condition.
A small bronze figure of a rat. Qianlong period ( 1736 - 1795 )

The style of this small rat figure was clearly inspired by the rat head which was one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac created by the Italian Jesuit missionary Giuseppe Castiglione for the Qianlong Emperor in the mid-eighteenth century.( Please have a look at the last image ) They were originally part of a rococco clepsydra, or water clock.

A quite large Guan-glazed Longquan ware deep dish with a beautifully crackled blue-green Celadon glaze.
Southern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ) Longquan ware.
Diameter : 21,4 cm. H : 5,4 cm.
Condition : Perfect, the glaze a little bit degraded.
The body exquisitely potted of flattened double-gourd form with a slender upper bulb resting on a compressed lower body, set with two delicate loop handles.
The pale bluish-olive-green glaze thinning to the edges of the piece so that the brown paste of the body is shining trough the glaze.

The quality of the carving is extraordinary.
This bamboo brush pot comes from an old German collection, there still is an old inventory number to the base of the piece. There is a Chinese inscription to the piece which can be translated as follows : "the boat is ready to go to heaven, the prince will go seek help from god".
Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier.
