A very interesting Ge glazed bowl with calligraphy
So far I could not find a reference for this piece. Fact is that it was excavated, fact is that there are too much ( of course genuine ) signs of wear to the glaze of the piece to be a piece of the Qing Dynasty. The base points to Yuan. After my opinion it is at least from the Ming Dynasty, but most likely it is older. The piece has a very nice Ge glaze ( Geyao ) but it has also a underglaze iron brown decoration like we know this from Cizhou ware and also a underglaze green calligraphic design. Could be that the calligraphy on the piece could contain information concerning the piece. Diameter : 13,2 cm. Condition : Perfect
