The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Beautiful dark dense horn, natural imperfections in the material. Mellow patina, overall in very good condition. Very nice object for scholar’s table. Height 2 3/16 inches, diameter 9/16 inches.

Excellent dark dense horn, wonderful patina, traces of red seal paste, very pleasant finish to the surface. The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 3 (photo is flipped horizontally to show what impression looks like). Very nice object for scholar’s table. Late Qing Dynasty (late 19th century to 1911) Chinese horn square seal of plain shape with very crisply carved Chinese characters on the base and traces of red seal paste in the grooves. The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Beautiful light color horn with old age lines horn, incised character on the top for the owner to know the orientation of the impression. Mellow patina, very nice object for scholar’s table. Height 1 1/4 inches, base 1/2 inches square.

18th century Chinese bronze sculpture of a running boy holding a Precious Gem in his raised hand. Unusual image, wonderful casting and detailing - see his smiling face and knots of his robe. Excellent warm patina, 200 years worth of compressed dust on the surface, pleasantly heavy. Fixed to a newer beautifully carved hardwood stand. Very nice object for scholar’s desk. Height with stand 3 5/16 inches (84 mm).

Rather unusual 19th century Chinese jade scholar’s rock/brush rest in a form of a natural jade nugget in a shape of a dramatic flat mountain with two areas for placing a brush. The piece gives a good feeling of weathered mountain surfaces and quiet energy of the stone. True nephrite jade of dark celadon color with dark areas, richly textured surface, old fitted dark rosewood stand. Excellent functional object for scholar’s desk. Length of the stone 3.5 inches, height with stand 2 7/8 inches.
