19th century Chinese jade thumb ring (also called archer’s ring because of its historic use in pulling the bowstring) of true nephrite gray jade with beautiful color variation in the stone and a darker patch left to show the skin of the jade boulder used for the carving. Nice finish to the surface, pleasantly heavy, in excellent condition. Wonderful object for scholar’s table. Inner diameter 15/16 inches (24 millimeters), darker part is 1 1/8 x 1 1/4 inches.

Late Ming Dynasty (beginning of the 17th century) small fine celadon jade plaque / pendant in reishi fungus head shape, with pierced and carved design of two boys among foliage and lotus flowers. Does not photograph well. I believe the plaque represents He He Twins, also known as the Heavenly twins, or the Two Saints of Harmony. Beautiful pale celadon jade, excellent work , in perfect condition. Width 1 5/8 inches.
