Early 19th century Japanese cloisonne covered tea caddy decorated with phoenixes in flight among scrolling flowers. Rare and early piece in terms of Japanese cloisonne, from the period of transition from Chinese to Japanese style. Gilding to the rims on the foot, mouth and cover. Marked with spurious DAI MING (great Ming Dynasty) on the bottom. Very beautiful matte finish with original pitting. Very pleasant feel to the piece. Height with cover 4 1/4 inches.

Very unusual early 19th century Japanese cloisonne sake cup with silver lining on the inside and stylized flowers among scrolling leaves. Red cloisonne cloud mark on the bottom. Rare and early piece in terms of Japanese cloisonne, from the period of transition from Chinese to Japanese style, great for a study collection. Very pleasant matte finish with original pitting, wonderful feel of age. Height 1 1/8 inches, diameter 2 1/8 inches.
