19th century Japanese iron kanemono (tobacco pouch clasp) depicting Choun cradling baby prince Ato in his arms. Choun (Chao Yun in Chinese) was a 3rd-century warrior fighting in support of the Emperor Gentoku (one of the Three Heroes of China). At the battle of Changfan Kiao, the Emperor had to flee, leaving behind his wife and infant son, and Choun rescued the baby and carried him away on his saddle.
