Pair of good size 19th century Japanese sword menuki depicting Seiobo with an attendant, and Tobosaku holding a peach in his hands. Seiobo is the Chinese Queen of the Fairies, with Peach of Immortality ripening on a tree in her garden only once it 3 thousand years. Tobosaku was a witty advisor to Emperor Wu Ti, and is believed to have stolen 3 of the peaches. Fantastic quality work - see their faces and richly decorated textiles.
