| 19th century boxwood netsuke of a washer woman pounding a textile on a boulder with a mallet, while a boy is watching in amazement. Very good assured carving, great faces, delicately incised textile patterns, wonderful detailing. Very beautiful mellow patina. Signed SEIZAN in rectangular reserve on the bottom - the artist is listed on p. 928 of NETSUKE & INRO ARTISTS AND HOW TO READ THEIR SIGNATURES by George Lazarnick. Height 1 7/16 inches. | ||
