A Chinese wooden box with brass strapping, handle and lock plate. The base wood appears to be tieli wood and this has been covered with huanghuali veneer wood. The box measures about 6 3/4" wide x 5 1/2" deep x 4 1/4" high. Condition: The condition is good. There is a chip to the veneer on one corner, some veneer strips are missing on the underside of the lid. The landscape decoration has been done in a ruby pink under glaze, and there is calligraphy done in black on each end.
