| An interesting tea ceremony 'Katatsuki' chaire or tea caddy, complete with its shifuku or silk storage bag, dating to the early 20th. This Katatsuki cha-ire is of the tall square-shoulder type. A rich honey brown glaze with umber accents around the body typical of Seto chaire. The textured bone or antler lid is gold lined and exhibits a slight yellowing through age. The foot is unglazed with the base featuring the typical string-cut pattern, dark through years of use. Overall condition is excellent for age. The shifuku or storage bag is probably a later addition.Dimensions: 3" x 2 1/2". An excellent addition to any serious collection of teaware or for use by the tea practitioner. | ||
