| A set of four lacquer brushes for applying urushi-nuri or lacquer. Unlike other types of brushes, the bristles on these lacquer brushes travel the entire length of the handle; very similar to a pencil. Periodically, the protruding bristles are cut off and the wood cut back to reveal a new section of bristle. This is one of the reasons why these brushes are relatively expensive to purchase new. This set of two broad and two narrow brushes are covered in lacquer residue along with its rich odor. They are as grubby as the last time the craftsman put them down. Average length: 7". | ||
