Arnold E. Boedecker (American, b. 1893) Crashing Surf Watercolor on paper, signed: “Boedie”. A painter and illustrator, Boedecker studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and also with John Pike, Edgar Whitney, Jerry Farnsworth, Don Stone, Tom Nichols, Dong Kingman, Millard Sheets, Rex Brandt & George Post. He was a member of several art organizations including: AAPL; Akron Soc. Artists (pres., 1966-68); Cuyahoga Valley AC (trustee, 1961; pres., 1962-63). He also exhibited widely at venues including: American Watercolor Society; Butler Institute of Art; Wichita Centennial Exhibition; Canton Art Institute and others. From 1915 to 1961, Boedeker held the position of art director for Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Co.
