Pauline Meyer Colyar (American, 1873-1928) Wooded Path Watercolor on paper, signed and with original backing board bearing stamp of artist's name and address. Although Colyar was born in West Virginia, she became best known for her works depicting the area of New Bedford, MA. For a time, she was also a resident of Cincinnati, OH and was known to make painting trips to southern California. She retired to Los Angeles in 1927 and died there of heart failure in 1928. Her works are held by the Peabody Museum (Salem, MA) and New Bedford Public Library.
